The Homestead

Jason and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary this past weekend. We chose to go a week early to celebrate because we were going to the Homestead in VA. Since our anniversary is father's day weekend he resort was booked, so we decided to do an early celebration. Well...we will probably just celebrate twice.
Richard Lasher, the guy who made our wedding cake made us a fresh topper for our anniversary that was the exact same flavors as our actual wedding cake. I've been looking forward to this cake since we finished the real one.
Jason and I ate a fabulous dinner at the Homestead Resort.
The Homestead is in Hot Springs, VA....literally in the middle of nowhere. It feels like you're going to the end of the universe. Although it's not that far away, there is very little civilization on the way. The Homestead is a resort that was built in the 1700's and is owned by the same company as the Hotel Del Coronado. There is so much to do and it is beautiful.
The large balcony with the pillars is the outside view of our room. We got a killer upgrade since it was our anniversary.
Jason, having afternoon tea.
Cheese and wine on our balcony.
The ballroom.
Outdoor pool.
The spa gardens.
The octagon spa pool. One thing that is really interesting about the Homestead is that the entire town sits on Hot Springs, hence the name. So, all of the water, rivers, creeks, flow at 100 degrees year round, even in the snow. The hot springs are a big part of the spa there.
The back of the hotel.
Golf clubhouse.
View from our balcony.
More views from the balcony.
Our room.
The beautiful Homestead.
