Baby Trueblood!!!!!!!!!!

Jason and I are so excited that we are expecting a baby in May! We found out about baby T on September 14th, the weekend of the JMU WVU game while all of my college friends were in town tailgating. That was a difficult secret to hide that weekend! Jason had way too much to drink that day since we were trying to be sneaky. We had our 8 week appointment on October 10th. We got to see the baby and hear the heartbeat which was 163 beats strong. The grey blob on the left in the picture above is the baby. It kind of looks like a gummy bear right now! We found out that our dates were a little off, so I was only 7 1/2 weeks when the ultrasound was done. I am currently 9 weeks today and feeling pretty good. I am exhausted and a little sick in the mornings, but I can't complain too much! I go back for 3 more appointments in 2 weeks to get things checked again and make sure everything is still looking good.

These are some pictures that we took to put in photo albums when we told both sets of parents.

Cunningham Falls

This weekend we went hiking at Cunningham Falls. The weather was beautiful and it was peak fall season. We were also dog sitting D.O.G. so we definitely had our hands full with both of the boys. They were really good for the weekend and even slept well. Eventually they were so exhausted they couldn't play anymore. Flash hasn't gotten out of his bed since D.O.G. left.

Needless to say the boys were pretty exhausted after a day of playing and a long hike. They look pretty pitiful!

JMU Reunion Weekend

This weekend all of our JMU friends came in town for the JMU WVU game at FedEX field. We lost the game of course, playing against the #9 team in the nation, but it was awesome to see JMU play such a great team and at such a big field. We had an awesome time with everyone. Erin and her boyfriend Jason flew in from Chicago to see everyone. A lot of us hadn't see each other since our wedding, so it was great to catch up with everyone. Everyone came over to the house for dinner and a fire pit on Friday, and most of us went to the game on Saturday and tailgated.

Tough Mudder and other randomness

Jason and I had a relaxing weekend right before I went back to work. We had to get all of our house stuff together to make sure we were starting out ahead of the game, but then we decided to go to Casanel for lunch outside and some live music with the dog.

The following weekend was not so relaxing in our neighborhood. Last weekend the tough mudder took place at the farm right outside of our neighborhood, which was a TERRIBLE idea. First of all there is one small one lane country road going in and out of the farm. Second of all, that road leads to one exit off of route 15, and there were 30,000 people there. This also wasn't advertised to the general public or the surrounding neighborhoods. We literally couldn't leave our house. From route 15 to our house, which is about a mile, was a 3-4 hour trip. They couldn't get emergency vehicles through and it was so poorly planned and run, it couldn't have been any worse. To top it all off it started storming and was calling for tornadoes. They continues with the race. Jason and I walked down the street to see the zoo.

During the tough mudder you run through various obstacles and one of the obstacles is live wires and cattle prodders and you actually get shocked as you run through, while you are wet and muddy. Doesn't that look like a great idea in the storm???

Luckily, this was a 2 day event. The mayor of Frederick said that it was so poorly run that they cancelled the second day and Tough Mudder lost about 2 million dollars in revenue. It was absolutely insane here last weekend.

Temecula

Excuse my random formatting with my blogging lately. I am trying some other blogging software programs because I am not a fan of the one I currently use. I still haven’t gotten the hang of the newer ones, so I am figuring it out.

On our last day in California, we went to Temecula to do some wine tasting. The vineyards were so pretty and the wine was fantastic. We had a great day. It was horribly hot there though. Compared to San Diego, we felt like we were back in Maryland with 105 degrees.

We also got to go to Ponte, where Aunt Sandy works. It was so good to see Bill, Sandy, Pam and Brad while we were out there.

La Jolla: Seal Beach

After our day downtown and in Coronado, we drove to La Jolla for sunset and some seal watching. It was beautiful there. It is definitely different from east coast beaches. I was so excited because I had never seen a seal before! They are cute, lazy, and very fat! We got some great pictures!
