Lauren Comes to Visit

Lauren came to see us the week before we went camping. We were so glad she came and it was so much fun getting to spend time with her. Lauren and I got to hang out during the day while Jason was at work. We even made Kevin some very awesome and very complicated cookies and sent him a care package. I sure hope he appreciates the cookiesSmile  because they were QUITE the process. Lauren and I ruined several batches before we finally got it right. Eventually we got it right and had some that were acceptable to send…only the best for KevinSmile

On Saturday we had a birthday party to go to and Lauren was a trooper and came along even though she didn’t know anyone. Our friend’s Jim and Shannon had a birthday party for their daughter Taylor, who was turning 1.

Jim and Shannon also bought us a bushel of crabs for keeping D.O.G. for 2 weeks while they were in Vegas. Lauren got to cash in on the MD crabs while she was here.

We also took Lauren to Casanel. We took Danny and Erin there when they came to visit us and they loved it, so we thought we would take Lauren. We took a picnic and sat outside and listened to some live music and had a great Saturday.

House stuff

Since I am off during the summer I usually get house stuff done because let’s face it, I don’t sit still well. Jason left to play golf one day and I decided to paint a wall. Jason is so good and basically gives me free reign to paint or decorate as long as I do it on a budget. It’s a good thing he is so good about that because there’s no telling what he will find when he gets home. He’s going to Tampa this week and Houston next week. You never know what he will come home to.

We have a bar downstairs that we actually rarely use. It is very nice so I decided to change it up and make it a more fun workable space. I also decided to paint a wall with chalkboard paint so I could write on the wall. It is a fun way to display a menu or drinks or even inventory wine.

Lonza Picnic

Jason and I hosted a Lonza picnic for some of the new recruits that went to JMU. I was such a bad photographer…I only took pictures of the dogs. One of the girls had a white boxer named Zephyr. The boys got along very well.

JMU Reunion

Two weeks ago we had a JMU reunion in Northern Virginia. Scott and Cheryl came down from NJ to see everyone and we all got together for cookout at Mike and Tone’s house. It was so great to see each other and a little scary to see us all grown up too. Jedd and Lexx recently had a baby…weird to see up all married and one couple with a kid. We had an awesome time spending some time together.

Last Days of School

The last few days of school we had grade level picnics and played limbo for the students last fun day of music. It was a short class and we have to have out rooms packed up because we don’t have any work days after the students leave. We had a great time, and I am look ing forward to going back to the same place and having something familiar to me next year.

Fifth Grade Graduation

My students sang at their fifth grade graduation and did a great job. I was very proud of them, and it was sad to see them go.

Flashy Says Bye to D.O.G.

Flash and D.O.G. were inseparable by the end of the 2 weeks that we had him. Flash was very sad to see his snuggle buddy go. They still see each other for play dates every few days, but Flash enjoyed having a buddy around nonstop.

Flash was very excited to have his daddy all to himself though!

And…Jim and Shannon brought Flash back some new toys after their trip because they knew that Flash and D.O.G. destroyed basically every toy that Flash owns.

Anniversary

For our anniversary, Jason and I went to an awesome German Restaurant called the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown, WV. The food was amazing! We had heard that this was a pretty awesome place, but we had never been, so we decided to go. I think this might become one of our favorites.

A great way to end the night, a glass of champagne and the most awesome German Chocolate Cake we’ve ever had!
