Charleston Visit

Since our plans for California at spring break changed because we have to go to CA for Nick’s wedding in August, we decided to take part of spring break to visit Lauren and Kevin since we haven’t been to their house. We had such a great visit with them and it was so nice to see their beautiful home and their precious new puppy. We were very lucky that we got to see little Dakota while we were there.

The weather was so nice, so we got to go to the beach. I also got to meet up with my 2 college roomies Jessie and Jamie while we were there. They came and spent the day with us on the beach. Jamie hasn’t changed a bit! It was so good to see them since it has been almost 2 year.

I promised I would put this on the blog. Kevin modeling Jamie’s several pairs of oversized sunglasses. They look so nice on him! So stylish too!

There was a back up on the bridge, so the roads were blocked and we got stuck at the beach at a restaurant…rough life right? Terrible being stuck at the beach. However, the pictures do get very random.

On our last day, we got to go on base with Kevin for a little tour which was a lot of fun. Jason loves playing in planes.

Birthdays and Jim and Debbie’s Visit

This year, Jim and Debbie were able to be in the area for our birthdays since Jim had to work in DC. We were very bad about taking pictures, but we did take a few after dinner. We got to go out to dinner and we also got to go downtown to a new cupcakery and try out some cupcake flavors. We had a great visit with them.

For Jason’s birthday, I decided to experiment with lobster and saffron risotto which I have never made before. The lobster was yummy!!!! Definitely a make again.

Andy’s Wedding

In March our friend Andrea got married in Staunton. Jason and I went to Staunton for the weekend and got to hang out with some family, friends, and some of our JMU friends. Andrea and Nick had a beautiful wedding.

Ethnomusicology Grant

Once again I am incredibly behind on my blogging. So I am going to play catch up. Hopefully, now that I am done with school, until May, I will have a little more time.

Back in January, my art teacher and I wrote a grant for a world ethnomusicologist to come out to our school and be our artist in residence for a week. The kids got to play all kinds of fun instruments like the spoons, Asian gamelan, Handmade instruments from Kenya, didgeridoo's and the steel pan drum. The kids had an absolute blast and I learned a lot too.

Bryce

We went to Bryce for a relaxing week with my parents, Pete and Debbie, and their daughter and son-in-law Cam and Mike. Cam and Mike have the 2 cutest twin girls. I mostly took pictures of them during the week. It was a great no stress week with good food and friends.

Flash knows to hang out with the girls because they always leave crumbs behind. They also like to feed him.

We took Kendall and Carley out to a beautiful covered bridge to take some pictures and do a little photo shoot. The pictures turned out really good!
