Fine Arts Gala

Our fine arts gala was a huge success. I also determined that I might be mildly insane for planning this at the end of the year. However, we had an awesome turnout. We had about 500 people attend the arts gala, which was huge since only 90 children performed. For the arts gala we had a full art gallery walk through where we prepared panels with art work from every student in the building. We also had servers with appetizers, drinks, and finger foods. During the gallery we also had instrumental students play as the community walked through the gallery. We had solos, duets, string trios and quartets. In addition we presented a video of the K-5 progress of our students in the arts and how the arts support student academics. Our students did such an amazing job. After the gallery and live music, everyone came into the cafeteria for the chorus and handbell concert.

I was very proud of out kids and also of the event that we were able to pull off. We had a lot of help from some amazing parents and teachers!

This year I had the pleasure of working with a student who is the most incredibly talented student I have been able to work with. She plays the cello and was also in handbells, and she was my students piano accompanist….by the way, she has never had a piano lesson. Pretty amazing kiddo!
